The consistently well-prepared, fearlessly seasoned food at the Star of Siam represents some of the best Thai cuisine in our area. The small original in a 19th Street townhouse and the second-story Adams Morgan branch, with a section of its dining area devoted to native-style, floor-seated dining, boast the top Thai kitchens in the District.

Curries are the signature of these kitchens, so be sure to include at least one in your order. Consider the Moslem curry with beef, the yellow curry with shrimp, or the particularly fine red curry with fish. Other examples of this award-winning work are beef with eggplant, deep-fried whole fish with chili sauce, crab with curry powder and fresh chiles, watercress with bean sauce, noodles topped with mixed vegetables stir-fried in a fiery sauce, and the elegantly light Thai sweet-and-sour pork.
