The standard Thai appetizers are very good. Try the crispy, deep-fried spring rolls, the tender and marinated pork satay, and the chicken wings stuffed with a mixture of minced pork and chicken. Spicier starters include several room-temperature salads, such as larb and pla.
Whole fish, whether steamed or deep-fried (preferably with black-bean sauce), are well done. Curries occupy a prominent place on the menu; they range from the fiery forest curry to the milder seafood curry baked in a banana leaf. Duck lovers will like the double-cooked duck, roasted, then deep-fried, as well as the Amarin roasted duck with sautéed onions. Include a vegetable dish in any meal; eggplant with chicken and basil is a good bet.
