Good seafood at bargain prices is a challenge. Lamberts keeps within our budget by stressing the food over amenities. The restaurant is bright and comfortable. Orders are placed at a counter (but delivered to the table if the diners don't stay nearby). White wine and beer are available along with soft drinks, so the dining experience need not be totally Spartan.

Begin with one of the house-made soups, such as clam chowder, crab Manhattan, or cream of crab. Then go on to one of the fish main courses. In the under-$10 range are several fried dishes and baked fishes, such as nicely cooked haddock. Sautéed scallops, shrimp, and crab cakes are several dollars more. Finish with house-made cookies.
