The menu is also very ambitious. One of the strengths of the cuisine of Thailand is the variety and quality of salads, which are offered as appetizers. Served room temperature with meat, seafood, or chicken as the focus, the dishes are tart, sometimes bitingly so, from the liberal use of lime juice, onions, lemongrass, chili peppers, and cilantro. Other good appetizers are the spring rolls and minced crab balls wrapped in bean-curd skin.
Among the main courses, good choices include the whole steamed red snapper with scallions and mushrooms. Try shrimp or squid, either with chili paste and spring onion or with black beans and green pepper. Among the curries, try the chicken-and-potato curry or the duck with red curry, which includes slivers of bamboo. Sautéed watercress is a good vegetable choice.
